What to Carry on Rounds

Introduction

Morning rounds and dressing changes are a great place for students to get involved and help the team, especially with the patients the student is following. Carry the following supplies in your coat, or have them available at the bedside of your patient and make sure to jump in front and get involved with the dressing change.

Dressings

  • 4x4 2x2, drain sponges
  • kerlix

Bandages

  • medipore tape
  • silk tape
  • tegaderms

Other useful stuff

  • Suture removal scissors
  • Scissors
  • flashlight ( phone)
  • Q tips
  • Saline
  • Gloves (when you enter every room)
