TICU rotation

The Trauma ICU takes care of some of the sickest patients in all of Buffalo. A group of team-oriented residents and interns and fellow is required to care for these patients. In general there are rounders and call people. The rounders arrive early and see and present patients on rounds and write their note and carry out their plan for the day. The call person admits new patients and follows up on tasks overnight.

The swarm

When a new patient is admitted, all available residents should should swarm to help get the patient settled. Depending on what needs to be done, one resident can take report and examine the patient, another can place orders, another can open a note, etc.
